Could you take a couple of minutes of your time and leave feedback to the following suggestions for site improvement and what direction we wish to take this place:

You can just leave a comment by clicking on the comment links above and below the post.

I am wondering whether anyone would be interested in the following:

  1. Having a “Forum” type page on the site where people can discuss matters to do with the club, the town or just rugby in general.
  2. Whether you would like to have the ability to have or create your own “blog” or page at bruffrfc.com (along the lines of having your own joebloggs.bruffrfc.com address for your own personal blogs.)

The first one would need a few people to become forum moderators, which would basically mean keeping an eye on postings to make sure they are in the correct format, on topic, clean, correct for this site and not spam postings. (And maybe mediate in the odd row).

The second one will need a major amount of setup but would mean that those of you who don’t have your own personal blog could have it hosted here. I would envisage that this would be free and would be paid for by advertising or sponsorship if any small cost was involved to us for hosting etc. THIS IS A LARGE UNDERTAKING and I would need some serious support for this if it was to go ahead.

Please let me know what ye think by leaving comments to this post, I’m going to leave it up AS AN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE NEXT WEEK OR SO.

Also if you have any other suggestions please leave a comment here as well. All ideas good or bad, are guaranteed at least five seconds of my time before binning đŸ™‚

Admin.

Thanks to the trojan work by Alan Enright, Gearoid Foster, Jimmy Cleary, more lads from the Development Committee and the boys from John Keane Electrical, not to mention the Work done by the E.S.B. we finally fired up the New Training Pitch and Main Pitch floodlights last night.

They’re BLOODY AWESOME.

Match Quality lights in Bruff R.F.C. , There were people who said it couldn’t be done, it was impossible, we couldn’t do it in time, or on budget, to all of the naysayers I wish a big

Phase 1 & 2 of the floodlighting works are almost complete and we have a link to a few photos HERE.

All credit for the above has to go in particular to Alan, GearĂ³id and Co. from the development committee who along with a few others at different stages have managed to complete all the groundwork and bases, cabling, etc. with absolutely NO disruption to the pitches, NO stoppage time. It’s a minor “work of art”, which will allow vastly improved lights for training to pitch three and four and AIL Match Standard lighting to the main pitch. Preparatory work for phase three (Front Pitch) is underway and will be completed as soon as timetables and Weather/game requirements allow.

Congrats and Well done to the lads for the trojan work done to date. That showed em, It’s both on time and on budget.

Another photoset in the series. 23rd November, 2007. Third roof section goes up over the Popular Side. The welding is going on as well locking the three roof sections together into one continuous steel frame and as you can see there is blockwork going on in under the stand itself. By the way the connection of the frame to the base is a “pin joint” from a structural point of view.

Anyway click the link below to get to the Photo gallery of day three.
