Just in case I Don’t get to see ye all in the club on St. Stephens Day for the Reindeer tag rugby Blitz.

From what I can gather there is no exiles around to play against the presidents XV so The first XV lads are training at 1:00 ish and then the tag rugby will take over the dregs of the Exiles and party will kick off after that.

Tag Kicks off around 3:00 pm.

Party kicks off at around 5:00 or or half past depending on tag blitz finish.

Come along and join us, but in case you don’t, from all of us involved here with the website I hope that you all have a good one and let 2009 be even better than 2008 for you and of course for Bruff RFC.

We would like to congratulate the Bruff Hurling team who won their Intermediate County Hurling final last Sunday against Caherline thereby gaining promotion to Senior from next May. Well done to Manager John Mulqueen, Selectors Ger Browne, Jimmy Burke and Paul Finn and to Captain Mike Weekes and the players for their fantastic work which has paid off. As Ger Browne’s text said over the weekend, “We’re All Senior now…..”

This week sees a return to actual rugby for most of the Senior squad with their training tour to Birmingham, U.K. this weekend. Flying out on Thursday night, Friday will see them up for two training sessions in facilities very graciously provided by First Division Club Moseley RFC of Birmingham. Saturday sees the first game of the season at Kenilworth RFC, about three quarters of an hour outside Birmingham. Kick off TBC. Saturday night they have off to see the sights of Birmingham and do some local “Cultural” touring before they return on Sunday night. Have a good one guys.

The Centra Munster Rugby Summer Camp is also taking place at Bruff this week also, by the time you read this they should be almost done and dusted. I’ll have pictures up on the website and you  should be able to see more linked from the Munster website over the coming weeks.

U20 and Adult training as usual on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m.

This Friday night sees the East Limerick radio crew in the club for a function on the last weekend of their current licence.

Next Committee meeting on Monday 25th next at 8:00 p.m.

Looks like the Munster Branch is really on top of things already this season, with the courses on the New ELV’s already in place, now the fixtures for the Gleeson League, McInerny Cup and a few other Munster J1 and J2 leagues and cups have been finalised, we should have them up on the website by the weekend all going well. Just log on to www.bruffrfc.com later on in the week and the link should be there.

Next club meeting is on Monday night next, 21st July at 8:00 p.m. It is important that all club committee members attend to finalise arrangements for the Bull N’ Booze Tag Rugby festival on the following Saturday. Patrons should also note that we will be running a shuttle bus to and from Clancy’s in Bruff and the Club to facilitate transfer during the evening and also after the festivities. This Bus comes courtesy of Jack Clancy in Bruff and many thanks for that.

There is also a celebration night for George Clancy’s elevation to Elite Referees Status taking place on the Friday night (25th) taking place in Clancy’s pub Courtesy of Heineken and Jack so we’re kicking off proceedings there. Anyway have a good week and we hope to see you all in the club for the Biggest festival yet.
