Congratulations to the Under thirteen’s who in a tight encounter in Dooradoyle last Saturday the U13 squad won their top place play-off away against Garryowen.

Half time score Nil all after the twenty five, Garryowen went 5-0 up five minutes  into the second half after a try. Bruff had levelled to 5-5l within another five minutes and finally with four minutes left on the clock Graham Whelan kicked a penalty to give Bruff an 8 – 5 lead which is how the game finished on fifty minutes.

Scorers:

Alex McAuliffe try on 35 mins.

Graham Whelan Penalty on 45 minutes.

The 3rd XV did have a good run out in the Webb cup going into Fitzgerald park to come away with a win. The Bruff side were ahead at half time and with ten minutes or so left on the clock Thomond fought back to kick a penalty to level the game at 11 all. In the last minute of play, Bruff’s Niall McCarthy ran in the winning try with Richie McAuliffe converting to put a gloss on it. Scorers on the day Mike Fitzgerald (1T), Niall McCarthy (1T) and Richie McAuliffe (2 pens and 1 conv.). Final Score Bruff 18, Thomond 11.

Youths:
The U13 squad travelled to Scariff for a great win to put them level with Garryowen at the top of the League. This will involve a playoff final for the league to be confirmed later.

Quiet enough last week at home on the rugby front.
First XV: On Friday night last The first XV took a trip up to Nenagh to play a friendly under lights up there. Nenagh ran out eventual winners by 12 points to 7.
On Saturday the U20’s chalked up another win in a friendly against Dolphin, finishing on a 41 point to 19 win.
The J1 game against Shannon didn’t take place.
Youths:
The Under 18’s friendly between Bruff and Abbeyfeale on Saturday saw the Lads from the west coming away with a 20 point to 12 win.
NML U13: In the North Munster League the Under 13’s beat Shannon by the slimmest of score-lines, Young O’ Dwyer kicking his way into the history books (I Know, I Know….) with a penalty to give Bruff a 3 points to nothing lead with about ten minutes left on the clock. Bruff held on to win.
