Our seniors travelled to Rosbrien to play old crescent in the Charity Cup semi final on Saturday last, and after taking the scalp of Garryowen the week previous we were hoping for a good display again. Once again due various reasons we took to the field with some our young guns and it was very encouraging watching them play with a freedom that management must have been very pleased with. We got off to an excellent start from a line out outside the crescent 22 we mauled to the line when Brendan Keogh touched down. Crescent went ahead with a try 5 mins before h/t but bruff hit back with a superb try before after a great break from scrum half Pa Lloyd before off loading to Tadgh o Dwyer to put us 12-7 ahead at h/t. The second half saw us go further in front when of another line out saw us score in the right corner Flo once again converted to put us 19-7 ahead. Crescent narrowed the gap with a try and with the clock deep into injury time and 2 players in the bin Crescent get the winning score. And while we had one last chance to win it Flo was just off target. The management I’m sure will be very happy with the performances of the lads especially some of the younger lads.
