U15’s played a friendly against Estuary at Kilballyowen on Thursday evening. Bruff were the stronger team on this occasion and emerged clear winners on the night.
The U15’s league campaign came to an end on Sunday last to a much stronger Old Crescent side. Bruff were the first to score and had 7 points on the board ten minutes into the game with a try and conversion from Anthony Foley. The half time score saw bruff trailing 12-7. Old Cresent played a much stronger 2nd half and had 3 more tries and 2 conversions leaving the end score 33 – 7.
The U15’s finished off their league rounds with a 27-8 win over Kilrush last weekend. The scores for Bruff were: Robert Laffan (try) Darragh Fanning (2 tries) Anthony Foley (penalty, try, and 2 conversions). The team will now take on Shannon in the semi-final. The other semi-final is Garryowen v Young Munsters.
The U15’s were away to Richmond at Garryowen this weekend with a much improved performance. Shane Breen drove the bruff pack over the line twenty minutes into the game, and Mikie Walsh touched down the first try. Darragh Fanning scored the 2nd try and a conversion from Anthony Foley sealed the win and the game ended with a scoreline of: Richmond nil Bruff 12.
U 15’s travelled to Shanagolden to take on Esturary, and after a rusty start to the New Year they came away with a 12 pts to 7 win. Tries scored by Ryan Lonergan and Owain Quinlain and a con. by Anthony Foley.
