John Hogan a member of our senior rugby team and current captain of our 2nd XV has been studying and working in Journalism for the past 5 years or so. Most of you’ll will know John from his weekly Column in the Limerick Leader, The Hookers Diary which follows the ups and downs of a senior rugby player competing in the All Ireland League
He has now expanded his net to the Global Audience and has written an article in an online sports Magazine called Global Sports Quarterly.
The article is on the effect that professionalism has had on rugby since it was introduced in 1995. The article is on page 32 and It mentions in it that John plays for Bruff.

Kilrush pull out of cup game
The U17’s had their 1st cup match this weekend in Coonagh to Shannon/St.Marys. No.8 Liam O’Dwyer got Bruff on the score board ten mins into the game and at h.t. Bruff had a lead of 21-5 . The lads scored 3 more try’s in the 2nd half and ran out easy winners with a full time score of 42 – 12 . Scorers for Bruff a try each for Liam O’Dwyer , Conor Fitzpatrick ,Brian Fanning, Anthony Foley and captain Paul Downes 2 try’s & 6 cons. The next game is set for sun 23rd away to Kilrush.
