We started our season on Friday night last, in the quarter final of the Charity Cup when we entertained Garryowen in kilballyowen and although we were without some of our more experienced players it allowed management the opportunity to give some our younger players good experience. The game itself was very enjoyable with both sides moving the ball wide Bruff took the lead after 15 with a penalty from Flo but Garryowen went ahead with a try before h/t Bruff regained the lead with another penalty from Flo on the stroke of half time. The second half saw both teams create chances but defenses were good and the game finished out 6-5 to Bruff. Next up is old crescent on Saturday next.

A big congratulations to our very own Dr John Hogan on his graduation at UL today, a great servant to Bruff rugby and former club captain, a very proud day for his family.

We’ve had players representing our province our country at all different levels but I stand to be corrected that it’s the first time we’ve had players represent us in Tug of War. The Gleeson brothers Daniel and Brendan will represent Ireland in Tug of War world Championships being held this year in Castlebar on the 7th @ 8th of September, everyone at Bruff rfc wish them the best of luck.
