Davy crossing for the first try

0n Saturday we entertained Malahide anxious to put last weeks dissapointing result behind us, and with Kevin McManus pulling out in the morning with sickness adding to our injury list Graham Whelan filled the void , we were going to need a big effort to get a result. Malahide were 4pts behind us and were looking to overtake us with a win, we managed to get off the blocks early and put pressure on Malahides defence but some handling errors cost us, we continued to have the better of possession and territory and finally made the breakthrough with 25 gone after hammering the Malahide line Davy o Grady found a gap left of the posts and dotted down he added the extras and we were 7 up,  we doubled our lead 3 minutes later when the Malahide flanker with an attempted clearance hit his own player and Paddy Cleary was on hand to gather and head towards the line they managed to reel him in but with an excellent offload to Cian Clifford to score an opportunist try Davy kicked a superb 2 pointer and we were 14-0 up. Malahide to their credit got themselves back in the game and after we failed to clear our lines them pulled back a 7 pointer and with a penalty in front of the posts they were back to within 4 at halftime.  Malahide continued where they left off and went 17-14 ahead with a converted try in the corner, pressure was on and the lads responded superbly Davy landed a magnificent penalty from the 10 mtr line to level things up and with 20 to go Sean Darcy got over in the corner Davy added the extras and we were 24-17 ahead Davy put us 10 ahead with 10 to go.  We then had a bonus point to go after and secured same with 5 to go after some great continuity and a superb line break from Graham Whelan shifted a raker of a pass to Jack o Grady (who’s having a cracking season) scored in the corner to make it 32-17. Davy did the crossbar challenge with the convert and we were able to relax for the final 5 mins, this was a magnificent team performance and credit to all involved, Malahide to their credit also played a huge part in what was a very enjoyable game before a big crowd in kilballyowen. Next up in 2 weeks time is a trip to Omagh.
