Bruff Rugby Football Club

Weekend Round Up

The J1 team kicked off their season with at 23-8 Defeat in the Transfield cup to St Mary’s. Marcus Mulivhill got Bruff’s only try with Tommy Carroll kicking a penalty.

The under 13’s got their season off to a winning start with a 32-13 victory over Thomond in a pre-season friendly, while the U18’s also started off the season with a win in a friendly  over an amalgamation team from Pres/Richmond

There were also a number of Bruff players on duty with Munster this weekend. Paul Downes & Brian Fanning were in action for the Munster u19’s  team that went down to Leinster in their opening game of the inter pro’s.

Paul Downes kicked a penalty and a conversion in the 19-10 away loss, played in Templeville road.

The club would also like to congratulate the Fanning Brothers, Brian & Darragh who were both involved with the Limerick Minor team that won this seasons Munster minor championship. Unfortunately the minors lost out to Kilkenny in last weekend’s All-Ireland final. Both of them were key to Bruff’s success at u18’s level last season and we look forward to seeing them back in the club colours later this year.
