Both the J1 and J2 teams were in action last weekend in their respective leagues. First into action on Saturday were the J2’s who took on Thomond in St. Munchins College. In a tight game Bruff battled to a 16-3 Victory. The only try of the game came from an interception from Andrew O Shaughnessy who ran in from 70 yards to touch down under the post. On Sunday the J1 team took on Garryowen in Bruff. Bruff went into the lead early in the first half with a try from full back Nigel O Riordan converted by Jonathan Forde. A second soon follow from John Carroll leaving the score 12-0 to Bruff at half time. The next try came mid-way through the second half from Scrum half Eoghan Maher. Brian O Connor Sealed the victory with Bruffs last try with 10 minutes left on the clock. Garryowen did manage a consolation try near the end of the game. Final Score Bruff 22 Garryowen 7.
Both teams are down for action this weekend. The Thirds are up against Richmond at Home before the senior game on Saturday. All support welcomed as this may decide if the thirds qualify for the knock out stages of the league.
The 2nds are fixed to play Shannon in Coonagh on Sunday with a 2.30 pm KO
