Our under 14’s managed another tense win over Garryowen in their latest league match. The home side got a perfect start when Tom Quigley crashed over from a short drive after 5 minutes. Matt O Dea narrowly failed with the conversion to leave Bruff leading 5-0. Garryowen put alot of pressure on the Bruff line for the remainder of the half but Bruff held firm to leave the score 5-0 at halftime. Into the second half and a change at scrum half saw Darren Kennedy introduced into the game along with Cathal O Doherty on the wing. O Doherty made a great run on the right wing for the Garryowen line but was pushed into touch. The game remained at 5-0 until replacement prop Simon Divilly again showing great strength, touched down to leave it 10-0 to the home side with 15 mins left on the clock. Garryowen came back into the game and scored a well worked try with 5 mins left to leave it 10-5, and despite a frantic end to the game which saw Bruff twice make breaks for the line the game ended 10-5 to Bruff. Well done again lads on another decent performance. Training as usual Wednesday night and don’t forget forms for Trip to be returned next Sunday 27th.
