SITE HELP
Site Navigation and use:
Just a few pointers in using the site:
You can get back to the main site front page any of the following ways: by clicking on the top header graphic, the home link on the top navigation bar, the Club name just below or the copyright link on the bottom of the page.
Some posts may be classed as “Sticky” or as an “Announcement” and may stay on the front page for a specified length of time. This is strictly reserved by the site administration for urgent posts only. If this happens, newer posts will appear in the list on the left rather than up as the main page. Keep an eye on the “Recent Posts” list as well as what’s up on the front page to be sure you have seen the latest stuff.
Once a week please do us a favour and vote for us using the little Icon on the right hand side with “Irish Blogs” on it, it’s only two clicks one after the other and it will help to keep us near the top of the sports blogs list. You can only do this once a week but please think of it if you can.
Clicking on the permanent link (Maroon) at the top of any post on the front page brings up the complete post and also any comments that may have been added.
To add a comment to any post, you can either click on the “Add a comment” links on the top or the bottom of the post on the front page, or if you click on any link to a post, the “add comment” box appears below the list of comments. Standard notation such as “Bold” “italic” etc. can be used in making comments and any of the smileys can be dragged into the box anywhere as well by clicking and dragging. ![]()
The latest 9 posts or so are shown on the Left sidebar by clicking on them directly. (Under RSS feed icons)
- The latest 6 or 7 comments are listed below the latest posts and are listed below the posts after clicking on any links.
- Clicking on either of the RSS feed links allows you to automatically add the latest posts and/or latest comments to your RSS feed reader which will notify you automagically every time there is an update.
Posts older than these last 9 posts are viewable a couple of ways:
- By clicking on the categories on the Right lists all the posts listed in a particular category (E.G. Adult Rugby, Blog, J1 Xv, J2 Xv etc.)
- Clicking on any of the tags under the posts lists all the posts with those tags added to them (the tags are added by the poster or by me afterwards so your luck may vary with these). You can also manually type in “www.bruffrfc.com/tags/”, without the quotes, followed by the name of a tag to see if there are any posts with those tags added. The tag cloud on the right hand side also lists the tags from least to most posts with that tag, the size of the text increases depending on the number of posts with that tag.
- The Full site Archives as far back as the revamp in May 2007 are clickable with the dropdown link on the right sidebar, select the month and you can work your way back ten posts at a time.
- You can also access the posts by date using the calendar on the bottom just to the right of the main post under the Sponsors which also lets you go back a month at a time as well , holding the mouse over a date lists the posts (If any) for that date.
- Finally if all else fails do a search using the search box on the Right hand sidebar.
Older stuff prior to May 2007 is viewable by clicking on the “Old Site” link on the top navigation bar, again your luck may vary with this, but Everything almost from the very beginning is still there somewhere.
The other links clickable in the main navigation bar are static content which tends not to change too much, but must be accessible from anywhere and we’ll put up a notice on the front page whenever it does change.
Finally, if there is something you would like to see differently or something you think should be added then I would appeal to you to ask us, by contacting us on the email address, or by just simply talking to us. We may be big auld gits but we don’t bite :-()
