The season’s games wrapped up with the North Munster Cups for the U15 and U18 squads this evening with two great wins.

The U15’s kicked off this great evening’s entertainment with a comeback from a 10-0 lead by Newcastle West after twenty five minutes with a try by Aaron Costelloe. Second half started with a big push with Bruff really straightening their running lines and much improved all round. Five minutes in full back Paul Doona ran a great looping run from midfield, backing himself to burn three Newcastle tacklers on the outside and finishing in the corner levelling the game at ten points apiece. Ten minutes later he scored his second to win the final by 15 points to 10, This was the first time to beat NCW in their last five outings and was a great display by both sides.

The U18’s had Shannon and to be fair took this game by the scruff off the neck early on. Tries by Andrew Whyte and Barry Enright, with Barry slotting over a conversion for his own against one Shannon penalty gave Bruff a 12-3 lead going into the break. An early try in the second half by Cathal O’ Rourke created a little daylight between the scores but at this stage Shannon were very strong in attack and with ten minutes to go after a Second try by Whyte and conversion by Barry Enright to a converted try to Shannon it was looking a little hairy. But Bruff finished very strongly and with a final try by Paul Browne and the conversion by Enright Bruff withstood the final assaults by shannon who ran in one further consolation try.

Final Score Bruff 31 Shannon 17.
