On another cold dour day in Glenina (this is not a reflection on the warm welcome we received, it just seems to happen every time we visit) , both sides suffered from a multitude of errors with ball and bodies slipping in the mud. Galwegians were first off the mark courtesy of a try from Wing forward Ivan Muldoon, but it took twenty five minutes for the try to come, although Bruff were lucky not to have been six points [...]

All who applied for tickets for the Ireland v Wales International can collect between 7 – 8 pm tomorrow Wednesday 25th Feb and Friday 27th Feb at the club.

Munster Rugby v Castres Olympique on 14th Jan. All members who apply for tickets for this match to the ticket line on 087-1386244 before 6pm tomorrow Tuesday can collect their tickets at the pavillion between 7-8pm on Tuesday 3rd Jan.

U16′s play Estuary at Bruff

The U16′s continue their winning run as they dominated an Estuary side at Kilballyowen. Bruff dictated the game from the onset with tries from Brian Fanning, Liam Treay, Anthony Foley, Shane Breen, Pa Maher and Shane O’Connell and 8 conversions from Paul Downes.

U17′s v Thomond

Vince Lombardi the great American football coach once said “gentlemen we will pursue excellence, knowing we will never catch it but along the way we might reach brilliance.” Well Tommy O’ Dwyers charges continue to pursue excellence in their beating of Thomond. The attitude, ( for this viewer), was summed up in Shane Doona’s firm but fair lecture to a team colleague who ignored a 5 man overlap which cost his team a try. Already well ahead on the score board at this stage,Doona wasn’t letting the mistake go unmentioned, and Bruff soon crossed the white line again, but the point was made. Some brilliant forward play combined with hard fast running from the backs saw Bruff win on a scoreline of 41-14 against a spirited Thomond 15. Leading 27-7 at half time, alot of the hard work had been done “up the hill”, in the 1st half. Try scorers on the day were Shane Doona (2) Gavin Reidy (2) Cian Tierney,Jamie Ahern and Darren Cosgrove with one each. David O’Grady and Adrian Cooke (2) were successful with 2 conversions. We look forward to the next match.

U16 play St Mary’s in a challenge match.

Bruff U16′s travelled to Limerick to meet St Mary’s in a challenge game. Bruff dominated the game and came home easy winners with try’s from Mikie Walsh, Liam Treacy, Shane O’Connell, Brian Fanning, Shane Breen, Liam Dwyer and Paul Downes and conversions also by Paul Downes.

Bruff underage Trip to Manchester

Please note that the bus for the underage trip is now full. The total cost for the trip will be €250 per person. We will advise closer to the time when the balance is due. We have now confirmed that the Hotel is the Holiday Inn Express Manchester East.We have matches arranged against Sandbach RFC and Burnage RFC on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th April respectively.
