The 3rds recovered from a 6-16 deficit midway through the second half to finish 17-16 winners in a thriller in Kilballyowen. A try by JP Baggott and three penalties and a conversion by Kevin McEvoy for Garryowen put them in a winning position but Bruff replied in the final quarter with a Mark O’Connell try. Owen Quinn was the hero, kicking the winning penalty in injury time to add to his three earlier penalties.

It was a bright & breezy morning for the Bruff Ladies inaugural Munster Development League outing against St Mary’s RFC on Sunday 7th October. The sides had met a few weeks prior for a friendly match, in Kilballyowen, at which Bruff ran out comfortable winners. The 1st league match however was a much more keenly contested affair. Despite winning the lion’s share of the possession, handling errors saw the Bruff Ladies miss out on numerous scoring chances. Injuries in the second half saw Bruff numbers dwindle but despite a valiant defensive effort, St Mary;s crossed the try line in injury time to put the only score on the board. It finished full time in Healy’s Field St Mary’s RFC 5-0 Bruff.

The under 14′s have their second league win beating Shannon 28-0.
Four converted tries gave Bruff a flattering win in this league game in Coonagh on Sunday morning. We got off to a great start when Liam Tierney scored a try under the posts which John Bateman converted within 5 minutes of kick-off.The game was very even after this with both sides attacking.Bruff were slightly stronger and doubled their lead coming up to half time when Michael O Grady scored under this posts and John Bateman converted.Shannon attacked at the start of the second half but Bruff defended well.Mid way through the half Michael O Grady got our third try and again John Bateman converted.Five minutes from the end John Bateman touched down under the posts and converted to complete the scoring. It was a good all round performance and the team continues to show improvement. We have a game against Clanwilliam in Kilballyowen next Saturday night.Training as usual on Wednesday from 7 to 8 30pm.There will be no training next Sunday as Munster are playing Heineken Cup .
