On Saturday last we entertained Skerries’s in rd 5 of the ail once again we suffered the loss a forward before kick off when our second row Neilus Keogh pulled up in the warm up with a leg injury adding to our long injury list we’re enduring this season. Tadgh o Dwyer took his place in the second row and it was great to see Brian Morrissey return on the bench. The game was nearly 20 on when skerries went 3-0 up Kevin landed the equalizer before Skerries’s got their first try to go 8-3 ahead with 30 gone. That went to 13-3 with another try to go in 13-3 at h/t. The 2nd half stated and we were off target with a pen Skerries’s kicked one of their own to go 16-3 ahead. Bruff hit back with a try from Johnny Cleary converted by Kevin to make it 16-10 Skerries’s added a pen to go 19-10 Bruff replied with a try from jack o Grady converted by Kevin to leave just 2 behind. And with less than 15 to go it looked like anyone’s game, but Skerries’s added 2 late try’s to take home the 5 pts. We all wish Conor Fitzgerald a speedy recovery after he had to leave the field with a nasty injury Conor was just back after a long lay off so let’s hope we’ll see him soon back in the jersey again. Next weekend sees us make the long trip to Omagh before we get a weeks break.

We entertained Sunday’s well on Saturday last in the msc in kilballyowen on what was a perfect day for rugby. The game was very even and scoreless until 20 mins when Sunday’s Well to a 3-0 lead. The Well went further ahead before half time with a converted try Flo pulled it back with a well struck penalty to make it 10-3 at half time. The second half saw Sunday’s Well extend their lead with a converted try and sealed the win with another penalty to finish 20-3. For some of these players it’s been four games over the past 3 weeks and we seemed to have a lot of handling errors, there’s also new partnerships being build and also some of underage age players cutting their teeth at senior ranks. And while management will probably disappointed with the result they will know it’s in a months time when the Ail starts that they will need to be up to the pace.
