Bruffman George Clancy will get the big European weekend underway when he referees the European Challenge Cup final between Northampton Saints and Bourgoin at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday, May 22 (kick-off 7.45 pm).

George, who won the Munster Referee of the Year award in 2007, refereed the Churchill Cup final two years ago at Twickenham and joined Irish colleagues Alain Rolland and Alan Lewis on the IRB’s International Referee Panel last season. In a notable double for Limerick Peter Fitzgibbon, who was recently added to the International Referee Panel, will be the fourth official on duty for the Northampton Saints v Bourgoin tie. The Thomond clubman refereed Bourgoin’s semi-final win over Worcester Warriors earlier this month.

Clanwilliam and Shannon man John Lacey is a touch judge for the game along with the Limerick Lads.

A poem written by Ray O’Brien, a tag rugby player from the team Tottally Inform Taggers:-
Week 5 approaches and the legs feel strong, the thought of charging over another group nearly derives a song,
12 TITS stand together with determination on their faces, about to put that Kellogs Pun through their paces,
This Special K team are a team of teachers, pity they will spend there night weeping on the bleachers,
Now youth is something they have on their side as their average age is 25,
But wait don’t check your run, as we have Chief Running Bear O Driscoll driving us on,
Fast Hands Michael will break down the team with his snipping runs, not from his bum!!
And you’ll have High Tower Mikey with our Fag dispensing victory dance as he lays his ball on the line (Rugby Ball that is)
To finish them off I propose the milk, this will make them soggy and surely they’ll split,
to allow our beautiful backrow of ladies to drive through and score, for a 9 point victory wouldn’t want more!
So Cheers TITS cheer and Shake I beg, for Its victory that awaits us, when this shower of taggers are bate!!!!!!

This is a charity that is very close to our heart with many of our members involved. It’s aim is to raise awareness of the need for a “Lokomat” machine which will help people who are immobilised by keeping their joints, muscles and circulation moving.

The group are trying to get one of these machines placed into the Patrickswell area but they have to raise approximately €300,000. This machine will be available for use by anyone in the Munster region or even nationally. If you happen to come across anyone collecting for this very worthy cause, please do what you can to help, anyhting will be greatly appreciated.
